Invited to assist in rural development in the Eastern Region of Ghana, 3i will use technologies that produces green sustainable homes. 3i will deliver live, work & play communities and use mortgage financing to make our developments affordable.
Technology:
- Compressed Earth Blocks (CEB) and Rammed earth are used, and the benefits include the following:
- It is fireproof, sound proof, bug, mould proof, structurally sound, (3-5 times stronger than cement blocks).
- Regulates humidity and temperature, (ten times more thermally efficient than cement blocks)
- Ultra-low environmental impact, earthquake, hurricane and tornado resistant
- Recyclable, low embedded energy, limits de-forestation, locally available, 100 year durability, attractive, allows for fast construction and assembly.
- Inexpensive. Job creating opportunities, transferable technologies and reduces imports.
- Use of less skilled workers, decreases construction time to a couple of weeks. “R” value of 23 for 4” material, fire resistant and decay resistant, decreases HVAC requirements, use for wall, floor and roof systems, suitable for efficient and high quality housing projects.
